My A – Z Codependency Challenge – Wrap-Up

Well this self-inflicted challenge has certainly been interesting; had to dig up things I haven’t thought about in awhile. Though some of it was challenging I am pleased to say that none of it was too hard to handle. Growth and healing at its finest I’d say. Now I need some more ideas to help me keep blogging. Any suggestions? 😉

With that said, these are just some of the A – Z words I can use to describe myself and my life today. I love when that happens!

A – Abounding

B – Bolder

C – Conscious

D – Deliberate

E – Enough

F – Fulfilled

G – Gifted

H – Hopeful

I – Introspective

J – Joyful

K – Knowledgeable

L – Limitless

M – Meaningful

N – Noetic

O – Own

P – Peaceful

Q – Quiet

R – Rewarding

S – Simple

T – Thriving

U – Useful

V – Victor

W – Wise

X – Xylotomous (actually means capable of cutting or boring into wood but I would like to replace the word wood with “bullshit” 😉 )

Y – Yielding

Z – Zealous

I just want to encourage those who are struggling with codependency, low self-esteem, people-pleasing or just plain ol’ overwhelming life issues, to hang in there and keep moving forward. I know it’s hard and I know it feels like nothing will ever get better or go your way but it will.

I read a book by Stormie Ormartian titled, Just Enough Light for the Step I’m On, and I encourage you to read it. It really helped me to focus on the here and now. Sometimes life was just swirling around me with so many problems to deal with and I was just too overwhelmed. Someone asked me, “Terri, how do you eat an elephant?” To which I replied, “I don’t know. With a knife and fork?” (I’d obviously never heard the saying before.) She replied, “No. One bite at a time.”

You see, you don’t have to tackle everything all at once. Find the things that you have the power to change and focus on those. Then pick one and take just one step to change it. Then you can take the next step and the next. With each little step you take, you will grow and feel stronger to take the next step. Never give up because one day you will look back and be amazed at how far you have actually come!

  1. I heard it said, “We are all perfectly flawed”. Helps me to remember that my flaws are a part of me but they make me no less perfect in God’s eyes. Thank you for your comment!
