It’s finally Friday! Whooo hooooo! I can’t even begin to tell you of the stressful, yet amazing week I have had. It’s almost like having an emotional and spiritual whiplash. I start to get down about the chaos around me, then, in an instant, my head spins at the amazing blessings God bestows on me through my beautiful friends. Counting blessings this week, in the midst of stress and chaos, has put me, and kept me, in a place of peace and joy. How awesome is that?
Let me share how I was blessed this week by some amazing and wonderful people. How can I possibly focus on the chaos?
Finances are tight for me and I manage to scrape by, robbing Peter to pay Paul, week after week. I try not to complain too much because I know I have so much more than some and I never want to take that for granted. One of the items I placed on my vision board a year and a half ago was a new laptop. This week I was blessed with a laptop!
I suffer from Rheumatoid Arthritis, Fibromyalgia, Diabetes, Neuropathy, yadda yadda yadda… I am limited to the amount and type of housework I can do without ending up in bed for three days recovering. I do a little here and a little there but there are some things I just avoid as long as I can because I know how much energy it will suck from me and the amount of pain it will cause. Last night I was blessed with a gift certificate for 4 hours of house cleaning!
I’m uncomfortable meeting new people, although it has to be done, right? I was invited to a concert in the park last night by a wonderful woman I met a couple of months ago and I struggled with whether or not I was going to go. I finally decided to step out of my comfort zone and went. It was her ex-husband’s band playing (they remain wonderful friends) and I was blessed to meet so many sweet and fun people! I had a great time!
I was blessed to connect with an old friend from high school and meet for coffee and catch up. I haven’t seen him in over 20 years. Lots of laughter and fun!
Then there was today. I’ve struggled with my looks all my life. Friends tell me I am beautiful and I have male friends that tell me I am sexy and hot (hahaha). I can’t wrap my mind around what they see. I don’t see it. Maybe it’s more that I choose not to see it. Hmmm…I’ll have to think about that a little longer.
Anyway, today I was blessed with a free makeup session and professional head shots! It was a quick session as there were several women there today. However, the photographer, whom I met back in February, has gifted me another professional session where we will spend more time together, outdoors, taking pictures. She told me back in February that she wanted to do this for me because she wants me to see how beautiful I am.
I got to peek at the pictures before we left and I have to say…I’m pretty damn HOT!
I am just overflowing with the love these amazing people are pouring into me. I cannot express how grateful I am, how dear these people are to me and how much I love them. I am blessed beyond blessed, and I only hope that I will be able to love on others the way they have loved on me.
Thank you God!
